First Grade

S.T.A.R. Program

(Students Talk to Adults and Read)



Each Tuesday morning, for about an hour, adults and students find a quiet spot on the St. Paul campus to sit and read. Generally, each adult will be with four of our students (2 for 30 minutes at a time) who take turns reading aloud a book of their choice. The environment is relaxed and fun. The purpose of the program is to positively encourage students in their reading effort and growth.


Parents, gradparents, aunts, uncles, and/or special family friends are invited to participate. The program begins November 10^th and runs through March 16^th. We read from 8:55 - 9:55am. We always keep a substitute list just in case you can't make it every Tuesday!
